City awarded Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting

HONOLULU -- Mayor Rick Blangiardi and the City and County of Honolulu's Department of Budget and Fiscal Services are pleased to announce that the City has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

"Transparency and excellent financial reporting are critical to good government," said Mayor Rick Blangiardi. "I am proud of Director Kawano and his entire team for their dedication to ensuring that the City and County of Honolulu meets rigorous national and international standards for financial reporting. Their hard work is a benefit to all the residents of the City and County of Honolulu."

The Certificate of Achievement was awarded for the City's annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2021.

"I would like to thank our stellar Accounting and Fiscal Services team along with our City support staff members for their continued dedication and hard work to achieve this recognition for Excellence in Financial Reporting for many consecutive years," said Department of Budget and Fiscal Services Director Andy Kawano.
