2013 Wrap Up, Beall Corp Openings & Signings

The Beall Corporation is a commercial real estate company specializing in the development, leasing and management of retail projects in Hawaii. We take pride in matching tenants with appropriate properties throughout the state, here are our latest openings and signings.

On Oahu

Three new tenants opened at the Pacific Beach Hotel. Located at the corner of Kalakaua and Lilioukalani Avenues in the center of Waikiki, this property accesses one of the busiest pedestrian shopping areas in the world. Women's boutique, Lilikoi opened in November in the lobby retail corridor. Brought to you by the owners of LBDB - Little Black Dress & Bikini in Kahala Mall, the new venture specializes in brands from Hawaii, designer bikinis and resort wear. Also in the lobby, Hoku Craft offers mobile electronics and accessories as well as ribbon lei crafts for the visitor market. Fronting Kalakaua Avenue, Chapel Hats has opened its fifth Hawaii location. Following recent openings in Las Vegas and Front Street in Lahaina, Chapel Hats at PBH carries an extensive selection of styles from sun hats and caps to retro fascinators and even top hats.

In Kakaako, the grand opening of California lifestyle brand Illest took place on February 1st. Chris Yaris, of Beall Corp, represented owner Mark Arcenal in his first Hawaii location at Salt, Kamehameha Schools' 'Urban Island' adjacent to downtown Honolulu. Illest fits in perfectly with the new eclectic vibe coming to the area. "While it's parent company, Fatlace, is celebrating its 15th year in existence, it's only fitting to open up its fifth location at up-and-coming Kakaako." says Mark Arcenal, owner and creative force behind several brands. "With our new neighbors Highway Inn, Lanikai Juice and Starbucks, we hope to see and meet a lot of new faces."

Salt at Our Kakaako is part of a multi-phase redevelopment plan for nine city blocks including 680 Ala Moana Boulevard. When finished, there will be 300,000 square feet of retail space and 2,750 residential units in a pedestrian friendly mixed-use neighborhood.

On the Big Island

Queens' MarketPlace in the Waikoloa Beach Resort adds two more tenants to an exciting array of shops and services. Fashion-forward boutique Mahina is now open. This is the sixth location for the award winning retailer and its first on the Big Island. In the Food Court hungry shoppers can stop by Hawaiian Fish N Chips, now serving fresh local fish and familiar favorites like oxtail soup and broiled eel made from local ingredients. Owner-operator Ted Debsky brings his years of experience in the local restaurant scene to his very own fresh seafood bistro.

Just down the Gold Coast, Umeke's has opened at Lanihau Center. Umeke's offers multiple varieties of poke and local-style plate lunches made with just-off-the-boat, locally caught fish. Lanihau Center is conveniently located in the heart of Kailua-Kona and is a popular gathering place for both residents and visitors.
