USS Missouri Memorabilia Photo Display

Now through February 22, 2014

Kapolei Public Library

The "Images At War's End" exhibit, presented by the Battleship Missouri Memorial, in collaboration with Kapolei High School, will provide rare photographic perspectives from the end of World War II in Asia and the Pacific Islands. The photographs were selected from among tens of thousands of images in the collections of the National Archives at College Park, Md., mostly unseen images taken by U.S. Navy and Army Signal Corps photographers during the weeks and months surrounding the end of World War II. In addition, the exhibit will include a series of unedited, soundless, documentary film recordings taken aboard the USS Missouri as World War II was concluded in a formal ceremony on September 2, 1945 in Tokyo Bay. The free exhibit, will be located in the second floor elevator lobby and glass case. This exhibit is suitable for all ages and will be available for viewing when the Library is open.
